Online Banking Security

Keeping you and your personal information secure is a priority at Dollar Bank. We continuously research additional measures that can be implemented to ensure that your financial information is safe. Click on the topics below to see what Dollar Bank is doing to help protect you and for tips on how you can protect yourself when using our Online Banking and bill payment service.

Dollar Bank uses the latest hardware and software technologies to ensure the security of all data.

Online Banking is available only using browsers supporting Secure Socket Layer (SSL) protocol to protect your message when traveling over the Internet. We require Dollar Bank customers to use 256 bit encryption.

As additional layers of security, Online Banking requires you to answer a security question and verify your Secure Image each time you log in.

Your Online Banking user ID and password provide one level of security for accessing your accounts using Online Banking. In the event that someone would gain access to this information, a security question provides an additional layer of protection. Security questions are designed to prompt you for an answer that only you would know and have committed to memory. Incorporating a Secure Image within the Online Banking log in helps you recognize that you are logging in to an authentic Dollar Bank website and not an imposter site.

Every customer accessing Online Banking should have his or her own individual Online Banking user ID and password.

Dollar Bank discourages joint account holders from sharing IDs and passwords for greater security. Sign up for Online Banking and get your own individual ID and password

For your safety, we have built-in timers that will automatically terminate your Online Banking session if you are logged in but not using Online Banking for a certain amount of time.

This built-in timer helps to protect you from unauthorized activity in case you inadvertently leave your computer without logging off of Online Banking.

As an Online Banking customer, we require you to occasionally change your password.

This additional step in our security process helps to ensure that you are the only one who knows your password. You can also change your password as frequently as you like in the Customer Services section in Online Banking.

Dollar Bank discourages the use of tools such as password memory services offered by browsers.

These pop-up message boxes, asking if you want your computer to remember this password for future log ins, removes a level of security that protects your account access.

To keep online communication between you and Dollar Bank convenient, yet safe, we implemented a Secure Message Center service.

Within the security of Online Banking, you can use the Secure Message Center to send and receive messages about your accounts. Click on the mailbox icon anywhere in Online Banking to receive, send and view your messages.

Dollar Bank offers tips to help ensure your security and privacy as an Online Banking user:

  1. Never give your Online Banking ID or password to anyone. Dollar Bank employees will never ask you for your Online Banking password.
  2. When you’ve completed your online transactions, click Logout to leave Online Banking.
  3. Passwords are important. Don’t pick a password that can be easily guessed. Change your password periodically. We will require you to change it every six months. Don’t write your password in a place where someone could find it. If you forget your Online Banking ID or password, call us for assistance at 1-800-828-5527, Monday - Friday 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM and Saturday 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM.
  4. For greater security, Dollar Bank requires using a browser with a minimum of 256 bit SSL encryption to access Online Banking.

For your protection, Dollar Bank masks your account numbers.

When you are viewing your account information, Dollar Bank displays X’s for part of any account number so that the whole number cannot be seen.

Dollar Bank does not display personal information.

Dollar Bank does not display personal information such as names or Social Security Numbers in Online Banking.

We’ve added a double layer of security to our check images to ensure protection of your personal information.

First layer: Dollar Bank developed the CheckStripSM Window. Shown within your account activity, it’s a partial check image with only the payee and amount paid displayed. Information including your name, address, account number, bank routing number, etc. are not displayed.

Second layer: The first time you click to view a full check image, you will be prompted to enter your ATM PIN using a numbered keypad. Within that session, you can view as many full check images as you like without having to re-enter your PIN.

As an additional security feature, Dollar Bank displays the last login date.

Dollar Bank displays the last login date on each page to show you when your most recent Online Banking login occurred. If you do not remember logging into Online Banking on that date, please contact Dollar Bank immediately at 1-800-828-5527, Monday - Friday 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM and Saturday 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM.
